DDL UPDATE: New Card Drop + Tournament Momentum
.
DDL Update – August 14, 2026
The timeline stayed active around Doginal Dogs Legends today.
Card Reveal
Doginal Dogs CFO, Shield dropped the latest DDL card reveal, and this one was fitting: Shield. Another hand-drawn card from the Rise of the Pack set continues the daily reveal cadence the community has been running. The Shield card allows for 2 spells from the graveyard to your hand. It takes 5 mana to deal the card, 3 to get taken out, and gives 6 on the attack! This is a powerful card worth paying attention to. As we move forward, we will also connect these cards to the actual dogs they are modeled off of from the actual Doginal Dogs collection.
SHIELD card revealed!
Tournament Momentum
Community member Home is organizing a bracketed DDL tournament. It will be live-streamed and framed as a pure deck-measuring contest. Interest is already being collected in the replies. This is one of the clearer signals that people are moving from theory into actual organized play.
Home talking DDL Tournament!
Competitive Layer
The leader of DOGWARTS DAO, Defi, remains locked in with competitive energy and continued presence at the top of the early ladder conversation. Meanwhile, the trash-talking continues as Shock makes his way back to the top of the leaderboard and boasts it on the timeline against Defi!
While Shock (SWEAT) does have the longest winning streak with 32, Defi is in full control of the Total Wins and Overall SZN 0 Scorecard. These guys play constantly, so the leaderboard updates frequently. A match between Shock and Defi would be EPIC!
Community Support
The NFT Roundtable was ran by Bailey who kept the conversation flowing and excitement high for the ongoing release of DDL!
Hofers continues to show up as one of the more consistent DDL-focused voices (self-described DDL Master).
An exciting DAO run by Order called RegardlessDAO posted about the feeling of holding a 1/1 that becomes a main DDL card when the set fully lands.
Founders stayed in the mix as usual. Bark and Shibo were active across the broader Doginal and Legends conversation.
What’s taking shape is simple:
New cards are still being revealed daily.
A tournament is being organized.
Competitive players are measuring themselves against each other.
And the same group that builds and supports the collection is the same group pushing the game forward.
DDL is moving from announcement into actual play and structure.
That’s the state of the game on August 14.
